Film Review – Iron Man 3

The relationship between man and the machine has been the favourite muse in all generations and is loved by all. An intriguing subject, which captures the audience in all cinemas. One such genre of films is the superhero movies. Marvel comics bringing us superheroes since as early as 1939 have never disappointed us and Marvel brings all these superheroes to life for us to dream and believe.

The third in the Iron Man series released by Marvel on the 26th of April 2013 has proven to be better than the rest. It is always very tough for a sequel to stand up to its reputation as it is compared to all the other parts in the series.

The story starts a little vaguely and then it just booms. It keeps you on the edge of your seat as always. Now the question arises what is different in this Iron Man? He would be saving the world which would have been attacked by some powerful wicked man who would be out to destroy the universe and then ‘Iron Man’ our hero will zoom and save the country or maybe the whole earth.

True this is what happens but, this has been the best. The super complicated gadgets and talking Iron Man suits, along with a trip to the insides of the brain are worth a good watch.

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) takes us thirteen years down the memory lane when he has a small flick with Dr. Maya Hansen (Rebbeca Hall) which he forgets. Life goes on and he finally gets a girl Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) who loves him. The story revolves around the terror attacks all over by the all mighty and mysterious ‘Mandarin’ (played by Ben Kingsley) who is seen but never caught. Many a blasts over the country creates panic and death everywhere.

Stark is evolving as a man as he learns to use his own brains and reconstructs himself. Jarvis (voic e over by Paul Bettany) his talking Iron Man Suit is designed and recreated after the New York blasts and the memories bring nightmares and sleepless nights to Tony. Dr. Maya and Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) who now after 13 years have become very powerful and dangerous track down Tony and Killian is out to destroy him.

As the own kingdom of Tony Stark gets destroyed he steps out alone to look for the man responsible and in between finds his own anxiety attacks and fears rising. He makes friends with a small boy Harley (Ty Simpkins) who helps him in recreating the Iron Man suit with his skills. And then the story goes on…

In the Iron Man 3 we get to see a lot of humour and it keeps the audience glued. The character of Ben Kingsley as ‘The Mandarin’ takes all the accolades from the viewers. Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts gets very few action scenes but leaves a mark. Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian is absolutely brilliant and it is Robert Downey Jr. who walks away with the cake.

Overall a highly gripping adventurous science fiction superhero movie is what ‘Iron Man-3’ is about.

The question which hangs in the minds at the end is,”Is this the last we see of the Iron man?”
